12 weeks sounds like a walk in the park compared to the 26 weeks that I have to do this fall. I am in a similar position with my job. I have been saving for the last 2 years for this, its not like it snuck up on me. I also have made my work very aware of this, and I am taking a 6 month leave of absence. Talk to your boss, and see if you can work something out as far as unpaid leave, or see if you can maybe work a reduced schedule or just on weekends. Its a big commitment, good luck

Yes, they are legitimate. Just make sure that the institution you choose is regionally accredited. When the said institution posts their accreditation, go to that accreditation institution's website and look at the other education institutions are listed. Those are the peer education institutions that are on par with the on-line school.

Mark sure that you are not "buying" a degree. These types of "schools" are not legitimate. You still have to do (a lot) of work regardless if you take classes on-line or on- ground.

With this being said, your first choice should be your local community college or university (if you have one), if they offer the degree program you desire and when/where you can attend classes.

Part of what your local school can do for you much better than on-line schools, is counseling for careers. Have a talk with one of these counselors, and they will be able to point you in the right degree/career match.

YOu may need a "provisionary" certificate. Many people teach now that don't have teaching certificates

Your problem will be communication. Adults learn differently than Kids. YOu need to make it relavant. YOu can't just teach and not have relevancy. Adults will quit if they don't see an "end point" or a "justification" for the class.

Almost all community colleges and now even state schools have all on line or almost all online courses. Esp your first two years worth of classes. Contact the closest one to you and see what they have to offer. You will be amazed!!!

Avoid any "completely online" schools you might find on the internet. Those schools are 10 times more expensive than any real school and you won't get any better of a degree because you are paying more.
