I have taken several classes online. I got my degree at a physical university though. Online Education is effective, however don't think it is that much easier than going to college. It is less expensive but takes just as much time and effort and time to achieve a degree, and the degree may not be as highly valued as a degree from a physical college/university. It is flexible of course as you can watch your lectures anywhere. Everyone costs differently some can be expensive but it should be significantly less than a credit hour at major universities.

Well, if you're looking for a degree, I haven't seen any of the online courses that won't cost you an arm an a leg. You really do normally pay quite a bit more for the convenience of the online programs. Now if it's just an online course here and there that a traditional college is offering, then it's usually not more than the on campus classes. Good luck to you!

This course is 18 lessons and you're allowed to submit up to 3 per week. That's 6 weeks fastest if you schedule the exams well and don't have learning delays. End of June to mid-August may be pushing the time limits some unless you stay really motivated - LSU requires proctored exams (this course has 3) that will need to be scheduled. They allow proctors local to wherever you are but many university testing centers operate limited schedules in the summer - make sure you schedule well.

while there are online degrees such as university of phoenix, they are not free by and stretch of the imagination. An associate degree from Uof p was quoted at costing over $15,000.00 to my spouse.
Any online program that is offering you a free degree is most certainly not going to be a legitimate degree.

I just left a private school. My first year living on campus cost $30,225 a year. My second year I lived off campus and the tuition was $15,113. Now I this semester at my online school it costs $63,000 for the full program which is 4 years. We go by terms instead of semesters and its $4200.00 each term.

Online school is cheaper because you don't have to worry about room and board and other fees. It depends on the school as well. Plus when doing online school you can get a full time job to help pay for other expenses, in a traditional university you wouldn't have that benefit.

If I were you I would finish my last year at the university because you do not know whats going to transfer and whats not. I can tell you now that the program that I'm doing that only maybe 2 classes would transfer over. Talk to your academic adviser.

Online school:
Pros- work at your own pace, 3-4 hours a week per class, very interactive, one on one, don't worry about teacher's pick on you when you don't have a answer, for computer people (being able to sit the computer for hours), less structure
Cons- Lots of responsibility, don't really make friends(face to face) but at my school we have a facebook set-up to meet classmates,harder for people who don't like computers

My advice would be to research your online schools and watch out for bogus schools. Check accreditation! Hope this helped and good luck.
