Newly Built Back Area
The building added to the back of the Old Bedford School was designed to be "hidden" from view when looking at the school from the front. The addition is a true separate building connected to the school via a glass walkway. The new construction was done to comply with the Federal "Americans with Disabilities" act by providing access to all parts of the building to persons with disabilities. The lovingly restored, vintage 1915 schoolhouse, features an upstairs auditorium with raised stage and tiered seating to accommodate 150 to 200 people. A baby Grand piano is available. It is ideal for recitals, teacher in-service sessions, seminars and meetings. An adjacent conference room available for meeting space to accommodate 12 persons around a hand-crafted oak conference table. The downstairs refreshment area is convenient for coffee or stretch breaks with its granite-topped movable counter and dry sink. It opens onto the outdoor brick patio area. |
