Online School Counselling Programs
Joel Said:
Should I finish this online degree or what?We Answered:
Perhaps you could try to find other online schools that accept your credits taken from your previous school? I think you must aim at the goal to help you motivate yourself. Don't see the hardness because this will make you down.I would recommend you to visit a website about teaching degree online. Who knows after reading some articles there, you could find the answers you're looking for.
Success to you!

Good school for guidance counseling? We Answered:
Online school is ideal if you are a working adult with many responsibilities. When you graduate your diploma will not emphasize the word "online" but the name of the University as it is a regular diploma but the only difference is you did not commute to class. I know because I obtained my MBA in Finance from AIU Online; very rewarding. Have a great day!Jay Said:
Are the programs at the online school, GCNM, worth it? I want to get training in holistic health.?We Answered:
I cannot speak to GCNM specifically... I'm sure there's a variety of useful and valuable information that you can learn from online institutions for holistic health. Please know that to practice in North America as a Naturopathic Doctor (ND is a protected title in most of North America), you need to have graduated from an institution accredited by the American Association of Naturopathic Medical Colleges (www.aanmc.org).
**None of the AANMC accredited schools offer online courses.**
Naturopathic Doctors are primary care physicians. The admission requirements include a completed undergraduate degree with specific course weights in all the same sciences as "conventional" medical schools.
The training includes anatomy (complete with cadaver lab), physiology, pathology, histology, biochemistry, microbiology, physical clinical diagnosis, lab diagnosis, radiology, differential diagnosis, etc. Even minor surgery (more at some schools than others)!
Having attended the Ontario Med School Weekends a few times and had extensive discussions with med students at MacMaster, UofT and other Ontario med schools, I've observed that the basic science and clinical science + skills training is remarkably consistent in content between CCNM and the "conventional" med schools.
In addition to the above, NDs receive extensive training in nutrition (more than any other health professional), advanced herbal medicine, acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (some schools), hydrotherapy, "health psychology"/counseling and physical medicine (manipulations, massage, sports therapy techniques, etc.)
The ND program is a full 4-year program. The final year consists primarily of internship (actually treating patients.) And there's hands-on instruction beginning in first year.
Half way through the program (year 2) and again after graduation there are 2 series of intensive board examinations that must be passed in order to register with our boards and practice as a registered ND. The passing grade is 75% (for the board exams, and for courses in general at CCNM.)
Here's a link to the AANMC webpage where you can find accredited schools and learn a bit more about Naturopathic Medicine.

Good luck!
