When figuring out subtracting fractions and mixed numbers, how do you determine any common denominator? We Answered:
common denominator could be found by taking l.c.m of those denominators.Ex: 3 2/7 + 4 5/6
now we just add the whole number 3+ 4= 7
now we take 2/7 + 5/6
l.c.m of 7 and 6 is 42
2*6/7*6 + 5*7/6*7
12 +35/42
47/42
1 5/42
so the whole number 3 + 1 = 4
= 4 5/42
Hope I was clear

Subtracting Fractions?We Answered:
Well first convert the mixed numbers to fractions:3 5/7 is the same as 26/7
Then Find the Least Common Denominator between the two remaining improper fractions:
the LCD of 26/7 and 37/14 is 14; convert the first fraction to ?/14 ; then just subtract the numerators and keep the denominator.
26/7- 37/14= 52/14 - 37/14 = 15/14 = 1 1/14
