The Foundation provides the Bedford community with a window on the past by preserving and restoring ties to a bygone era. The mission of the Foundation is to identify, recognize, develop, promote and maintain those buildings, locations or activities within Bedford which carry historical significance.

Because preserving the visible reminders of our past is economically important, contributes to the education of our children, and help maintains our quality of life, the Bedford Historical Foundation is committed to the protection of all historical treasures. The Bedford Historical Foundation envisions the need for the preservation of history pertaining to Bedford, its residents and surrounding communities in order to preserve its culture, genealogy, archives and structures. Preserving Bedford's history is to be a visual focal point and create a participatory appreciation of its ancestry - past and present.
