The New Hope Church Of Christ site is located 1/4 mile east of Central Drive on the north side of Bedford Road next to the Bedford Cemetery. It is the current site of the Bedford Church Of Christ.

In 1874, Weldon W. Bobo, and Milton Moore drove their wagons to the lumber mills of East Texas to fetch building materials for a new church to be built on the site of Moore's farm. In 1877 Moore sold the five acres of land for $50 to the trustees of what was named the New Hope Christian Church. A tabernacle on the side of the building later served as the center for outdoor worship in warm weather as well as the site of the Old Settler's Reunions.

Historical marker text: Founded about 1874 by members of Spring Garden Church of Christ, this congregation was originally called New Hope Church of Christ. The first meeting house was built here on Milton Moore's farm near a small cemetery about 1874. The Church has worshipped continually at this site since its beginning. Moore deeded five acres to the congregation in 1877. During its early years the church also served as the local school. By 1900, the name Bedford Church of Christ began being used. In 1958, the congregation gave the original building to a neighboring church and built a new brick auditorium.
