Why is a slight fever okay, but a high fever is dangerous? 10th grade Biology Help!?We Answered:
enzymes are bilogical catalysts, protein in nature. virtually all the processes in ur body need enzymes to proceed...or else u die...at high temperares proteins lose their shape ( get denatured) and if this happens to an enzyme..it stops funtioning..because enzymes are really specific in their work due to their shapes..once the shape is lost..an enzyme cant combine with its substrate and hence the process cant go on as before... it can still go on..but soooooooooo slowly that it endangers ur life ( remember than enzyme was a catalyst)
so a lil rise in temperature cant do so much harm...but a very high temperature can be very harmful and endagers ur life...
plssssssss temme this helped!!! i lovvvved studying enzymes!

10th grade Biology: How does overall structure of DNA help its function of replication and transcription? We Answered:
DNA is composed of four bases which each pair with only one partner. Adenine pairs with thymine (or uracil when making RNA) and guanine pairs with cytosine. This allows a complementary DNA strand to be synthesized quite easily (replication). It also allows a complementary RNA strand to be easily made (transcription). In both cases the information contained in the DNA is kept by encoding it in a complementary strand of either DNA or RNA.Sergio Said:

For high school students in CA, do we have to take another Biology CST in 10th grade? We Answered:
Most ninth graders at my school take Biology as well, so they take the CST in may. However, my school offers an advanced biology class which students generally take in tenth grade. If you take that class at my school, you have to take the Bio CST again your tenth grade year. However, (this might be what your teacher was talking about) in California, all tenth graders must take a California Life Science Standards test which is similar to the Bio CST but much easier.Good luck and don't worry about any of the tests. If you pay attention in class you should do just fine.
