Algebra 1 Tutorials

Mattie Said:

Are there any sites that offer all of the tutorials for the TI-83 Plus calculator?

We Answered:

Not quite; it would certainly nice if a compilation of all these tutorials existed, but unfortunately, no such place is on the Internet (so I've found).

Your best bet would probably be just to do a search in your favorite search engine for whatever you're looking for, with "TI-83" in the query. That way, it should return more relevant topics.

Pearl Said:

Need a HS-level algebra 2 tutorial that covers factoring, quadratics, and the FOIL method.?

We Answered:

ALEKS is an online math program that students work through on their own. It assesses each student's strengths and weaknesses and concentrates their work on just what they need to learn. It provides excellent feedback to parent, teacher or tutor and can show exactly where the student stands in relation to both course objectives and state standards at any time.

You can sign your child up by the month (currently $19.95/month) or get longer periods at a discount. If your student advances beyond the level you sign him up for or needs to drop back a level that can be done at any time for no additional cost.

I use ALEKS with my two children and it is wonderful.

Good luck on your search!

Yvonne Said:

Okay, so everyone in my math class ((algebra 1.)) is pretty much falling HELP!!?

We Answered:

The Internet is a wonderful invention. If you take your subject of your question and add to what you want to know about it, the search engine will do the rest. For example:

My subject is Teaching. I want to know where to get certified.

The search engine result is as follows:

Teaching + state certification requirements

What you get is this: http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=Teachin…

This will work for any subject category. Give it a try and good luck.

Carl Said:

Algebra question: what is the inverse of (x+1)/(x+5)?

We Answered:

f(x) = y = (x+1)/(x+5)
Switch x and y,
x(y+5) = y+1
Solve for y,
y = (5x-1)/(1-x)
f^-1(x) = (5x-1)/(1-x)

Discuss It!
